Ted Wakar has participated in more than 100 events worldwide. His competitive entries have earned him many awards, including first place finishes from the National Ice Carving Association, American Culinary Federation, National Restaurant Association, International Snow and Ice Association, and many others.
Of all the events Ted has participated in, one event stands out as his
greatest achievement for himself, as well as the ice carving industry. Ted and teammate
Jim Bur were the first non-Japanese team members to win first place in the World Ice Sculpture
Championship during the 37th Annual
competition in Asahikawa, Japan, in 1996. This achievement
earned Ted the esteemed trophy which reads “Grand Master Champion”, the highest honor for
an ice sculptor. To this date Ted Wakar and Jim Bur are still the only non-Japanese team to hold
this honor. This trophy is a prized possession among
Ted's well-earned awards.
The ability to secure the artistry of a Grand Master Champion is rare but completely accessible through Frozen Images. Ted Wakar proudly creates all of his ice sculptures with respect for his customer’s needs and treats every one as an extension of his award-winning reputation.
